Enable MSTSC (RDS Client) on Windows 2012 Server Core
Author: Daniel Nikolic
If you want to use MSTSC (RDS / RDP Client) in the Server Core of Windows 2012 you must copy the following files (preferably of a Windows 2012 GUI install):
%SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe
%SystemRoot%\System32\mstscax.dll
%SystemRoot%\System32\msacm32.dll
%SystemRoot%\System32\d2d1.dll
%SystemRoot%\System32\d3d11.dll
%SystemRoot%\System32\dxgi.dll
%SystemRoot%\System32\en-US\mstsc.exe.mui
%SystemRoot%\System32\en-US\mstscax.dll.mui
After copying all of the files, just start mstsc and it works like a charm!
