Linkedin uses your name and picture for advertising
The new Privacy Policy of LinkedIn give them the rights (by default) to use your name and picture for social ads. There statement is :
This is just like facebook. Do you want to be in a promotion campaign for a company you follow? I don’t it is not in my interest and if it is then the may contact me first. If this bothers you here is how you can turn it off:
- go to your username in the upper right corner on the LinkedIn home page
- Go to Settings
- Select Account
- Select Manage Social Advertising
- Uncheck the LinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising option
