IOS 5 update fails (part 2: the iPad): An error occured while backing up this iPad (-5000).
Okay, a new one in the IOS 5 update soap 😉 Now the iPad is causing trouble! The following error occurres:
An error occured while backing up this iPad (-5000). Would you like to
continue to update this iPad?Continuing will result in the loss of all contents on this iPad.
I had this error before and the result was an empty iPod, that’s not really a problem… an empty iPad is a whole different story.
The solution is simple:
- Enable flightmode on the iPad (not sure if this is really necessary)
- Disable the real time protection of Microsoft Security Essentials!!
So this issue is not only happening on machines with Norton but also with other anti-virus software!
The iPad is updating now 😉
