Migrating Virtual Machine in SCVMM 2012 SP1 CTP2 results in error 12700

After migrating a Virtual Machine via the System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) SP1 CTP2 we receive the following error after trying to edit hardware or start the VM:

Error (12700)

Recommended Action
Resolve the host issue and then try the operation again.

After migrating the disk from VHD to VHDX the machine could be adjusted and started again. I’m not sure if this issue happens due to the fact the VM xml setting file is rewrited or another mysterious reason…
