Remote Desktop with 1366×768 resolution
Since I got my new laptop (XPS 14z) I’ve been running into the following annoying problem.
When I minimalize my full screen remote desktop session it’s not possible to maximize it back again. It would maximize to a window size smaller than my monitor so I have to scroll to see everything from my session. Especially when you got multiple sessions and quickly want to check some things on your local computer this can be really annoying.
It appears to be a problem with the screen resolution of 1366×768. When I downsize my resolution everything works as designed. And with the recent news of 1366×768 being the most used screen resolution it would be strange not to have a solution.
After trying to adjust the settings in the .rdp file with no luck I found a hotfix from Microsoft that solves this problem.
On the following link its possible to download this hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2582172
After installing the patch its needed to reboot.
After the reboot the problem is solved and the sessions can be minimalized and maximized correctly
