After disconnecting VPN – no network connection and PING returns: No resources
I’m hibernating my Windows laptop all the time, but after a while, I get a strange error when I disconnect my VPN. After disconnecting the VPN there is no way to communicate with a resource on the network or Internet whatsoever. Disconnecting, disabling or resetting the WiFi adapter will not work. Also restarting several
When pinging, for example, google.com results in: No resources.
The solution
So after a while troubleshooting I accidentally disabled and enabled the device WAN Miniport (IP) in Device Manager (go to Start – Run – devmgmt.msc – Enter).
Now select the WAN Miniport (IP) and press the Disable device button. After it has been disabled press the Enable device button.
You will see that the connection to the network and Internet is restored.

Oh, thank you so much!
I’ve been struggling with it so much and didn’t find anything better than restarting computer.
Your advice is going to save me so much time!
You are a genius! Thank you!
Great! Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot, this fixed the problem. I started to have this issue after messing up with setups to allow docker container to be discoverable on LAN. That didn’t work and I returned all the setups to their original settings. Looks like I forgot something somewhere. Among commands I used were: New-NetNat, New-NetIPAddress, New-VMSwitch. So I have cleaned up everything I’ve created back then but probably I could delete something that shouldn’t be deleted.
This really helped me!
This issue has been driving me CRAZY!!! This solved it. Thank you very much.

Worked for me too! Just had to click “Show hidden devices” under the View menu option of Device Manager.
